Ellis Family Law was founded by attorney Elizabeth Ellis to provide Kansas City families with skilled, compassionate legal representation during life's most challenging moments. What began as a Missouri-focused practice has grown into a dual-state firm serving clients throughout Kansas City in both Missouri and Kansas.

At Ellis Family Law, we specialize in problem-solving to get you through the court process. We believe most family law matters can be resolved through careful planning, creative solutions, and strategic negotiation, without prolonged courtroom battles.
From your initial consultation to your final judgment (and often for years beyond), we work to find practical solutions that protect your interests while minimizing conflict. When courtroom litigation is necessary to achieve a favorable settlement or win your case at trial, we use our extensive experience and skilled advocacy to get you the results you need.
Our approach combines:

Founder & Attorney
Elizabeth is the founder and owner of Ellis Family Law, LLC. Since establishing the firm, Elizabeth has focused her practice exclusively on family law litigation throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area.
After graduating from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law, Elizabeth clerked for the Honorable Bryan Round in Jackson County Circuit Court. This experience provided valuable insight into family court procedures and judicial preferences that she now uses to benefit her clients.
Elizabeth is licensed to practice law in both Missouri and Kansas, allowing her to serve the entire Kansas City metro area and handle interstate family law matters. She prides herself on providing clients with skilled legal advocacy combined with genuine compassion, honest guidance, and strategic problem-solving.
